This new approach focuses on our 15-minute neighbourhoods model and is a way for us to address complex issues that face our borough.
You can read the full strategy document using the link below and please remember to download use our new email signature and PowerPoint.
Safe Streets
One of the key pillars of our new strategy is about community safety. Everyone deserves to feel safe in the places where they spend their time which is why we’ve introduced the Safe Streets pilot programme in partnership with the Waltham Forest police.
With 40 per cent of our residents citing fear of crime and violence as a top concern, Safe Streets proposes a framework for reducing crime and anti-social behaviour, supporting victims and empowering residents to get the most out of their neighbourhoods. A key part of it is also about understanding the unique challenges and strengths of each area in our borough and tailoring support.
Two areas, South Leytonstone and Chingford Mount have been selected for the Safe Streets pilot because they both have crime and violence as a top concern, and together represent a broad range of demographics which mirrors the borough as a whole.

Martin Esom, Chief Executive and Shazia Hussain, Deputy Chief Executive were out at the launch yesterday meeting officers and talking about the pilot.

After careful consideration, the Programme Board has approved that Oracle Cloud will now go-live in September 2023. Colleagues should continue to use SAP as normal. To read more about the replan, the current priorities and what this means for the changeover from SAP to Oracle Cloud, please read the full article on Forest Hub.
