It’s only one day away! Welcome to the Forest, our three night extravaganza to celebrate the launch of our most amazing year as the first London Borough of Culture takes place this weekend!
In order for the event to run safely and smoothly there will be a number of road closures in place during the evenings, as well as disruption to parking on the Town Hall site, which will impact staff.
In order for the event to be set up there will be no parking available to staff or the public at the Town Hall from 12 noon on Friday 11 January.
In addition, staff working at the Town Hall on Friday 11 January will be unable to leave by the front door after 4pm, and will be directed to the side exits.
Forest Road will be closed between Shernall Street and Winns Terrace from 5.30pm each night until 10pm, and there will be no parking allowed on the street at this time.
There will also be no parking available over the weekend at the Town Hall site and parking will be suspended along Chingford Road, from Evesham Avenue to Forest Road, and Hoe Street until Greenleaf Road.
If you need to make alternative working arrangements on Friday 11 January, please speak to your Manager. Sorry for any inconvenience the parking restrictions and road closures may cause.
Parking at the Town Hall will resume as usual on Monday 14 January.

Welcome to the Forest is a unique event for all the family designed to celebrate our shared past, present and future in this much loved corner of north east London that we’ve chosen to call home.
Please come along and celebrate with us, bring your families and friends, promote it on your social media channels and enjoy. There’ll be so much to see, including mesmerising lighting installations in Lloyd Park, an epic site specific film projected onto the Town Hall, and a fantastic neon winter carnival down Forest Road.
