Construction at Coronation Square is on schedule and progressing well. In September and October last year, 42 new homes were completed in Hopsedge Heights and Cororant Heights facing onto Oliver Road, and 65 new homes in Peregrine Court and Pheasant Court were completed in December.
Of the 174 finished homes on site, 65 are for shared ownership. A further 576 homes, half of which will be affordable, will be built over the next three years.
Internal fitout works have begun in the new sports centre and nursery and are expected to complete by summer 2024.

Waltham Forest Council and its development partner Taylor Wimpey have revealed a new design for the centre of Coronation Square in Leyton. Coronation Square will be a vibrant public space and a hub for creativity, leisure, sports and culture, providing a place for the community to come together in a new destination for Leyton town centre.
A new District Heating Network (DHN) is coming to Leyton. District Heat Networks are more environmentally friendly than traditional heating networks, significantly reducing carbon emissions. The heating network will serve the 750 new homes at Coronation Square and all the other facilities in the development once operational. The network also has capacity to serve an additional 1,500 homes in the local area.
The works inside the Energy Centre will complete soon and it is expected to come online in spring 2024.
