There are some exciting changes planned for the borough over the next few years, and we want your views as we prepare planning guidance documents that inform planning decisions.
Speak to us at a drop-in session, join us for one of our workshops, or fill in the surveys online.
The consultation is open online until Sunday 6 August 2023.
This summer, we’re running an engagement programme that aims to get residents talking – about how they’d like us to improve their local neighbourhoods.
If you had £10,000, how would you improve your area? Practical improvements could include more cycle paths, planting in parks, renovating a community building or something else.

Waltham Forest Council has been working on plans to revive the Leyton Cricket Pavilion and Tin Hut buildings within Leyton Sports Ground.
We will be holding a drop-in public engagement event on Saturday 22 July at 10am to 1pm at the Arts Block on Leyton Sports Ground, E10 6RJ, where you will be able to view the proposed plans and speak to Council Officers and the design team. We look forward to seeing you there and hearing your feedback.
You can view the proposals and provide feedback by completing the survey by 11pm on 22 August.
Sixty Bricks, who build homes on behalf of the Council, is inviting people who live and work in Leytonstone to have their say on proposals to build new council rented and homes for shared ownership on Church Lane Car Park. The proposals also include new play spaces for younger and older children, as well as improvements to the local landscape. You can have your say by 21 July.
Fellowship Square relaunched in 2021 and since then has firmly rooted itself in the borough as a cultural hub with a programme of markets, civic events and family friendly activities. As the Fellowship Square destination continues to unfold over the coming years with the addition of the Walthamstow Assembly Hall event space, Civic Centre food offer and a play and performance space, we are keen to understand your preferences and interests to help shape the cultural offer.
Waltham Forest Council is working to deliver public realm improvements that will transform Sutherland Road E17, making it a more enjoyable place for residents, businesses and visitors. Sutherland Road has an important role in the industrial heritage of the Upper Lea Valley and having undergone a large redevelopment in recent years is now part of a new mixed neighbourhood of residential developments and growing businesses. Sutherland Road is also part of the recently Greater London Authority (GLA) accredited Blackhorse Lane Creative Enterprise Zone called the Blackhorse Collective.
Now that most of the residential development work is complete, we’ve developed proposals, supported by funding from the GLA’s Housing Zone programme, to improve the overall look and feel of the area, encourage walking and cycling, and improve access for people with mobility aids and pushchairs. View the plans and share your thoughts before 21 July 2023.
Since 2016 Waltham Forest Council has been transforming Forest Road into an attractive destination and better-connected transport corridor for all. We are now seeking feedback on the proposed permanent improvements to Forest Road between Hoe Street and Woodford New Road, and we want everyone who lives, works and uses Forest Road to have their say on the scheme before 28 July 2023. All the feedback received will be viewed by council officers and used to further shape the final design for this section of Forest Road.
