Recently Margaret Oley sent us this newscutting from The Independent Friday March 15 1968 about a visit from Chase Lane Primary School pupils. Daktari was a tv series set in Africa about a vet and a cross-eyed Lion called Clarence.
Suntrap has been open since 1967 and we've always looked for new ways to educate visitors on protecting and respecting the natural world.
Read more in our September newsletter on how we're using education to combat the climate emergency - never forgetting small acts can make big impacts!
Hopefully some of our ideas will inspire you to join us and please do share with us your own eco suggestions.

Emily will be supporting young people to develop into eco ambassadors providing them with the resources, skills, and knowledge necessary to effect change.
To kick start they're busy organising the first Waltham Forest School and Colleges Climate Summit from Monday 8 - Friday 12 November 2021.

Be Wild Saturday Club relaunched in September
The Be Wild Saturday Club is a wild adventure on the first and third Saturday of each month, for children aged 4-11 years old and their carers.
Wonderful opportunity to have fun exploring Epping Forest come rain or shine!
One parent told us 'Being with you has give me more confidence to take my children into the forest - I'm learning at the same time as them!'

Residential visitors
In September we're welcoming new visitors and returning visitors to use our residential camping pods.
Schools booked include Roger Ascham Primary School, Walthamstow; Gwyn Jones Primary School, Leyton and Haberdashers' Aske's School from Potters Bar, Hertfordshire.
Winter is no reason not to get outdoors, our pods are sustainably heated!

Suntrap can be booked for team building; training session, art workshop, screening or performance - we can't wait to hear what you've got in mind!
Recently we collected staff from Waltham Forest Adult Education in our new electric minibus to show them round the site and discuss ways of working together.
Watch this space for upcoming community learning opportunities!

Save a fortune. Save the planet.
Reyooz clears unwanted office furniture and equipment from large corporate businesses and gives it to schools free or at large discounts.
Zero waste means massive carbon savings and a healthier, happier planet.
The more we reuse, the more we do for the environment.
