Updated designs for the new Whipps Cross Hospital, surrounded by green spaces and community facilities, have been released by Barts Health NHS Trust.
The proposed new hospital at Whipps Cross will provide the same core NHS services as today, including emergency care and maternity. It will offer modern facilities, in better surroundings with more clinical space for doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals to treat patients. This proposal is scheduled to be completed in 2026.
There will be improved patient care and dignity with more single rooms and garden terraces, to improve wellbeing for patients and provide an uplifting environment for staff. The proposed flexible hospital design will be able to adapt to future healthcare demands.
The proposal to build a hospital at the leading edge of environmental sustainability design, striving to deliver the lowest carbon footprint possible by creating a net zero carbon building.
