Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Walthom Forest
Test and Trace

Here at Waltham Forest Council we have been thinking what more we can do to support businesses and residents not only tackle the spread of the virus but also address the damaging effects the pandemic has had on our health, wellbeing and economy.

This has now been published into our 12 commitments to you all. From giving face masks to anyone that needs them; ensuring no one needs to sleep rough this winter and bringing businesses together to see what more we can do to create jobs and opportunities, it is vital we give residents what they need to protect against the pandemic and the effects the virus has had on us all. Read the full 12 commitments over on our website.

The current national restriction around not meeting others indoors aims to help us stop the spread of coronavirus and I know that is particularly difficult for those celebrating Diwali.

With the recent good news around a possible vaccine to help us protect against Covid-19 let’s hope next years celebrations can be bigger and brighter than ever.

Stay safe Waltham Forest.

Testing is still vital to help stop the spread

Getting tested when you experience coronavirus symptoms is the quickest and easiest way to protect not only yourself, but your family, friends and vulnerable members of our society.

So if you experience a new, continuous cough, a high temperate or a loss of smell or taste then you must self-isolate with your household and book yourself a test.

We have three testing sites across Waltham Forest and there is also the home testing option available as well.

We have three test units in Waltham Forest and you can also order home test kits too.

To book your test, call 119 or book online.

Happy Diwali to all those celebrating

Test and Trace Diwali

We want to wish a Happy Diwali to all of our residents that will be celebrating this week. We're sorry that you're not able to celebrate as you might usually however with coronavirus still very much around, it's vital that we protect not only ourselves but the vulnerable members of our families and communities too.

Remember that following national restrictions you should only be meeting indoors with the people you live with or your support bubble. By doing this, you can help protect your family.

Celebrate safely
