Following extensive public engagement by the developer, and Waltham Forest Council’s statutory consultation, a decision is due on the future of The Standard site, 1 Blackhorse Lane, Walthamstow next week.
On Tuesday 1 December 2020, from 7pm, planning application 202561 will be discussed by the Planning Committee.

The application is for:
- Redevelopment of the site involving demolition of existing structures
- construction of a nine storey building (over basement) to provide 300 shared living rooms
- associated internal and external amenity space
- cultural venue measuring 766 square metres
- cafe/restaurant, measuring 362 square metres
- bar measuring 161 square metres
- ancillary refuse store
- cycle stores
- servicing areas
- landscaping
- associated public realm works
- provision of two disabled car parking spaces.
