The Government launched the Green Homes Grant (GHG) scheme this month, offering funding towards energy efficiency improvements to your property.
The vouchers will cover two-thirds of the cost of eligible improvements, up to a maximum government contribution of £5,000.
Improvements must be completed by Wednesday 31 March 2021.
Waltham Forest Council has been awarded some GHG funding to allocate specifically to private landlords with tenants who have an income below £30,000 and have an EPC rating E, F or G.
If you don’t meet these criteria, you may still be able to apply for the wider voucher scheme.

HEET is a not-for-profit organisation working in the London boroughs of Waltham Forest, Redbridge and Enfield.
HEET helps households to:
- Save money on fuel bills
- Stay warm and healthy at home
- Save energy and cut carbon emissions

During the COVID-19 pandemic some residents have been even more vulnerable than usual which is why our enforcement teams have continued with their work.
Making sure homes meet the requried standard means tenants have a safe, warm home in which to live while also backing the hundreds of responsible landlords who rent properties to the borough's residents.

We are aware of the difficult time tenants and landlords are facing due to Covid-19 so we extended the Early Bird discount on the Council’s Selective Licensing and Additional Licensing schemes until the end of October.
The Council will discount licence applications by £250 if made by Saturday 31 October 2020.
You need to act fast to claim the discount on your licence application.
There is no discount on applications for a mandatory HMO licence and these should be made without delay.
If you have any further questions or queries with regards to any of the three schemes please check the website for further information or contact the team.
