Walthamstow’s Cheney Row Park has been nominated for a top regional award and now needs your vote to help it win.
New London Architecture has shortlisted the park in the Placemaking section of its 2020 awards which are for new or rediscovered public spaces; parts of London that have been given new life through improvements to streets, squares, playgrounds, water spaces or parks.
The park opened last year after £1.2 million was invested in converting an old landfill site into a children’s play area, wildlife meadow, open field, BMX track and Amphitheatre.
The Council also planted 467 trees – the largest single tree planting scheme it’s done – and these are now being looked after by a new Friends of Cheney Row Park Group.
The awards winner will be announced on Monday 2 November 2020.
