QR codes for businesses with NHS Covid-19 app

smartphone

Pubs, restaurants, hairdressers, cinemas and other venues across England and Wales are being urged to download QR codes to prepare for the launch of the NHS Covid-19 app on Thursday 24 September.

Businesses should have NHS QR code posters visible on entry so customers who have downloaded the new NHS Covid-19 app can use their smartphones to easily check-in, instead of filling out a check-in book or tool specific to a business.

This will allow NHS Test and Trace to contact customers with public health advice should there be a Covid-19 outbreak.

Retail incubator space available in Central Parade

central parade

Retail incubator space is available at Central Parade, a hub for start-ups in central Walthamstow, located at the corner of Walthamstow High Road and Hoe Street.

The 12sq m space is available for £400 per calendar month. This includes VAT, service charge and business rates.

The temporary project - running until July 2021 - has created a destination for locals to get their bread and coffee at the popular Today Bread bakery and shop at plant and design retailer The Every Space, or affordable art shop Artsnug.

The unit is located within the cafe/bakery and is ideal for someone looking to test their retail or service idea. Neighbouring incubator businesses include a natural skincare shop, a baby photography studio, and a designer eyewear store.

As reported last week, new cash incentives designed to encourage the creation of new apprenticeships are being launched this week.

As part of the Government’s Plan for Jobs, employers will receive £2,000 for each new apprentice aged under 25 they hire, and £1,500 for each new apprentice they hire aged 25 and over, up to 31 January 2021.

Any organisation can apply for the payment, no matter the size or the sector.
