As part of its economic recovery programme the Government is allowing developers to work outside the hours contained in planning conditions.
Following discussions with contractors at the Juniper House site it has been agreed that the working hours will remain as the original 8am to 6pm, although this will be reviewed if circumstances change in the future.
Staff and contractors working on site will arrive before 8am to prepare equipment ready for use during the day and may stay late to tidy up the site.
This should be done as quickly and quietly as possible.
Noise monitoring happening several times a day
Inevitably there will be some noise from any construction site, but measures have been out in place to keep noise nuisance to a minimum at Juniper House.
Noise monitors are used at six locations on the site and are checked several times each day to make sure noise levels are within the limits set down.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requires action to be taken if noise levels exceed 80dB and at no time has the noise level on the site exceeded 75dB, which is well within the HSE limits.
