This work was completed exactly on time meaning this link is available for residents to use during the Christmas period.

ENGIE is working on behalf of Sixty Bricks, Waltham Forest Council’s development company, to build 45 new homes at Lena Kennedy Close, Chingford.

We apologise for any inconvenience this caused while it was closed for safety reasons.

What is being built on the site?

The development at Centenary House, Lena Kennedy Close is being delivered by the Council’s Housing Development Company, Sixty Bricks.  This is the first Sixty Bricks’ scheme to go on site.

It will provide 45 one, two and three bedroom apartments with 50 per cent of the new properties being affordable, including homes for rent and shared ownership.

Rents will be set at social rent levels as well as offering shared-ownership purchase opportunities.

The Greater London Authority’s annual monitoring report, published in October 2019, shows we have provided more affordable housing – at 42 per cent – than any other London borough since 2015. This is compared to just 17 per cent across the capital.

Local people and key workers in Waltham Forest will be prioritised for all Sixty Bricks purchase and shared-ownership new homes.  The social rented homes will be Council homes, let to local people on the Council’s housing register.

Four homes are designated as ‘wheelchair accessible’ and are adaptable for multiple needs.
