Come and join us for the Feel Good Walks

Highams Park Feel Good Walk 2019

Our Feel Good Walks are suitable for anyone to join and are FREE.

They provide a great way for people to get out and about, meet new people and explore some of the beautiful green spaces Waltham Forest has to offer.

This January we have new community group walks starting in Chingford, Leytonstone and Walthamstow as well as a new women’s only walk starting in Leyton.

Our existing walks are still running each week, so wherever you are in the borough there is a fantastic community walking group close by.

So come along and join us on our Feel Good Walks. Just turn up on the day, there’s no need to book in advance.

Residents bowled over by new cricket facilities

Graham Gooch at ECB Cricket Hub Launch 260619

In June we opened the new indoor cricket centre at Leyton, a joint project with the ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board), and already more than 300 people a week are using these facilities.

This is the first ECB Urban Cricket Hub and early in 2020 we will see the second phase of improvements to the sports facilities on this site.

We are looking forward to the 2020 season when professional matches and local clubs will be able to make the best use of the facilities.

Come and be part of a winning BMX team

BMX rider at Cheney Row Park

Every Saturday COG runs two BMX training sessions at the refurbished BMX course in Cheney Row Park, Walthamstow.

The sessions are 1 – 3pm for 10 to 16 year olds and 3 – 5pm for six to 10 year olds.

Equipment is provided and there’s a suggested donation of £2 per person per session.

In summer 2019 a team of BMXers from these sessions represented Waltham Forest in the London Youth Games coming away with a medal.

This was the first time we’d entered a BMX team so we’re hoping to do even better this year. If you want to be part of a winning BMX team come along and test your skills against other local BMXers.
