Thank you to everyone who sent their comments in regarding the Draft Local Plan.
Many of the comments were made at the drop-in engagement events and the Focus Groups we held, with others being submitted online by individual residents and local community groups.
We have received several thousand comments which are now being carefully read and a response will be prepared to each one.
These responses will be sent later in the year when the analysis is complete.
The comments and responses will also be collated into a report which we will publish on our website and eventually present to the independent Planning Inspector when we reach the Examination Stage (see details below).

There will be a second round of engagement on the Draft Local Plan during late Spring or Summer 2020.
If you are a Community Group that wants to get involved in the second round of engagement please let us know.
The Council is carrying out separate consultation on the Sustainability Appraisal of the Draft Local Plan.
The Sustainability Appraisal assesses the social, environmental and economic impacts of the Plan and is required under the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, and the Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programmes Regulations 2004.
The consultation period runs from Wednesday 9 October until Wednesday 20 November 2019.

We have declared a Climate Emergency in Waltham Forest.
We all need to work together locally to address this global issue.
We encourage you to have your say when we release the climate emergency survey and get involved in focus groups.
Details will be shared via the Council’s social media, website and email newsletters.

Residents across Waltham Forest are coming together as part of a group buying scheme to install solar panels on their houses.
Residents can now join Solar Together London, the solar photovoltaic (PV) group-buying scheme. It is free to register and there is no obligation to install panels.
Solar Together London helps Waltham Forest homeowners feel confident they are paying the right price for a high-quality installation from a vetted installer which will boost local renewable energy generation.
The new scheme follows three highly successful schemes run across the country last year which led to over 1,650 installations with Waltham Forest having 936 registrants last year.
Solar Together is one of the many ways Waltham Forest is acting to counter the Climate Emergency, declared by the local authority this summer.
