ENGIE is working on behalf of Sixty Bricks, Waltham Forest Council’s development company, to build 45 new homes at Lena Kennedy Close, Chingford.
On Friday 8 November 2019 ENGIE intend to close off the footpath which leads to Rolls Park Sports Ground to allow major drainage work to take place
The work will take around six weeks to complete and involves connections to the main drainage system, underneath the greenery.
If ENGIE is able to complete the works sooner the footpath will reopen but during the works it must be closed for safety reasons.
We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause.

2019 was the 100th anniversary of the Housing Act 1919, known as the Addison Act, which was the first time central government provided financial support for local authorities wanting to build council houses.
As this development at Lena Kennedy Close is the first council housing project built by Sixty Bricks, Waltham Forest Council’s development company and is being built during that anniversary year, it has been agreed to name the new building Centenary House.

Around £100,000 of improvements will be made to Rolls Park and Sports Ground, in Hickman Avenue, funded from the Centenary House scheme.
Proposals could include installing a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) which may include:
- An Energy Cross Trainer
- An Energy Spinning Bike
- An Energy Recumbent Bike
- A Smart Energy Hand Bike, which can also be used by wheelchair users
- Two Outdoor Table Tennis Tables
- Basketball Hoops
- Football Goals
There will also be a footpath link from Centenary House to Rolls Park.
The development at Centenary House, Lena Kennedy Close is being delivered by the Council’s Housing Development Company, Sixty Bricks. This is the first Sixty Bricks’ scheme to go on site.
It will provide 45 one, two and three bedroom apartments with 50% of the new properties being affordable, including homes for rent and shared ownership.
Rents are set at social rent levels as well as offering shared-ownership purchase opportunities.
Local people and key workers in Waltham Forest will be prioritised for all Sixty Bricks purchase and shared-ownership new homes. The social rented homes will be Council homes, let to local people on the Council’s housing register.
Four homes are designated as ‘wheelchair accessible’ and are adaptable for multiple needs.
