Works are now in progress in the unnamed footpath from Selborne Road to Gosport Road under the railway; and have also commenced in Falmouth Way with completion due before the end of September.

In Falmouth Way parking suspensions are required but this is in four consecutive phases limiting the amount of parking which may be suspended at any one time.  This road is in the MW parking zone with permit holders entitled to park in any other road within the zone if necessary.  Thames Water Utilities are required to inform residents and provided parking suspension signs in advance of the works.

A small section of the footway in High Street, at the junction with Willow Walk, has been reinstated using temporary materials since another small excavation is needed (no road closures will be required) before the completed water main is commissioned.  Permanent reinstatement of the blockwork surface can then be completed.

Sewer works means road closure over Bank Holiday Weekend

Road Closed sign

Utility works to provide water and drainage for ‘The Chain’ development in South Grove is taking place this weekend.

This requires a temporary closure of part of South Grove over the Bank Holiday Weekend.

In South Grove a sewer connection to an existing chamber is necessary requiring a temporary road closure, at a point near the railway bridge, from Saturday 24 to Monday 26 August.

Access will be maintained to all properties and side roads.  Pedestrian and cycling routes will not be affected.

Diversion routes for all vehicles including buses will be in place via Selborne Road; Palmerston Road; Mission Grove; Forest Road; Blackhorse Lane; St James’s Street.

When the road reopens temporary traffic signals will then be required for another three days until Thursday 29 August.

Advance warning signs are in place.
