Following last month's fire at The Mall, 10 retailers have now re-opened: Lidl, Pret, Gokyuzu, The Gym, Lloyds, Halifax, C&S Discount, Peacocks, Perfume Mania and H Samuels. There are also temporary pods for Boots and Superdrug pharmacies in the Town Square offering a prescription service to customers. Even better news – the shopping centre itself is set to open its doors on Wednesday 4 September, although some retailers will remain closed while repairs continue. The car park is due to re-open this weekend. To help support employees at The Mall affected by the fire, Waltham Forest Council has donated £10,000 to the Walthamstow Appeal, set up by the Mall owners, Capital & Regional, and industry charity, retailTRUST. Capital & Regional and retailTrust have pledged £25,000 each so far. The Fashion & Textile Children's Trust is also supporting the campaign and offering its services to The Mall community. To donate online please visit justgiving.com/campaign/walthamstow. Donations can also be made via text. To donate £5 to the appeal, text RTRUST12 to 70970.
