Feel Good Festival

Throughout June Waltham Forest is holding a series of sport, leisure, wellbeing, learning and culture events as part of its Feel Good Festival.

There are more than 300 Have A Go events including practical and academic taster sessions ranging from jewellery-making and gardening to English courses through to learning cricket or trying women’s BMXercise.

Read on to find out what’s going on this month and how you can connect, be active, take notice, learn or give – and help us to make Waltham Forest the Feel Good borough.

Apprenticeships Work

If you’re taking exams this summer and aren’t sure what to do next then it’s time to check out our apprenticeship offer.

We have a number of Apprenticeship job vacancies throughout Waltham Forest Council and private employers within the borough looking to recruit apprentices. These roles offer excellent prospects for progression to permanent employment.

It also means that you’re earning while you’re learning!

If you want to find out more we have 10 drop in sessions during June and July where our team will be there to answer your questions.

We are holding five sessions at The Junction Centre, 2-4 Cathall Road, Leytonstone, E11 4LF and five sessions at Queens Road Learning Centre, 97 Queens Road, Walthamstow, E17 8QR so do call in and have a chat.

Courses available for you to join now

We run information, advice and assessment sessions throughout the year. During these sessions you will be able to talk to our experienced team of lecturers to help you make decisions about your learning.

Courses are available daytime and evening. All English and maths courses are FREE if you do not already have English or maths GCSE grade A*-C and have lived in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area (EEA) continuously for three years.

  • Community, Family and Social Care
  • Computer and ICT

  • English Spoken as Other Language (ESOL)
