Fine Arts students display their work at special exhibition

Adult Learning Services Art from the Forest Poster

As Waltham Forest celebrates being the first London Borough of Culture we are holding an exhibition of work from students on our Fine Arts courses.

The exhibition will be at The Junction Centre, 2 to 9 Cathall Road. Leytonstone, E11 4LF on Wednesday 22 May from 7 until 9pm.

You can also get information about courses to help you develop your artistic talents and skills.

Admission is free so do come along and see art produced by local people.

Have a go: Feel Good

Throughout June Waltham Forest will hold a series of sport, leisure, wellbeing, learning and culture events as part of its Feel Good Festival.

There’ll be 30 days of activities where you can come along and try something that interests you.

There are more than 300 Have A Go events including practical and academic taster sessions ranging from jewellery-making and gardening to English courses through to learning cricket or trying women’s BMXercise.

Read on to find out what’s going on this month and how you can connect, be active, take notice, learn or give – and help us to make Waltham Forest the Feel Good borough.

Free braids and fun paperweights at Family Fun Day

Look out for our gazebo at the Cheney Row Park Family Fun Day on Saturday 18 May, 12 noon to 4.30pm.

Families can come along and use air drying clay to make some fun paperweights free of charge and we’ll also be doing free braids throughout the afternoon.

If you want to find out more about the Feel Good Festival or courses we run our staff will be able to answer your questions and there’ll be plenty of information to take away to read at your leisure.

Courses available for you to join now

We run information, advice and assessment sessions throughout the year. During these sessions you will be able to talk to our experienced team of lecturers to help you make decisions about your learning.

Courses are available daytime and evening. All English and maths courses are FREE if you do not already have English or maths GCSE grade A*-C and have lived in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area (EEA) continuously for three years.
