Sunday Social Markets launch success

Sunday Social Market general with signs

The Sunday Social Market launched at the beginning of March and is already proving popular with residents and visitors.

The market is on Walthamstow High Street between 10am and 4pm every Sunday offering food, fun and shopping for all.

This week will see a Bollywood style workout as one of the activities taking place.

Every week there are some different traders - last week the market had vegan food, amazing burgers, bubble tea as well as go-karting for children, arts and crafts from soap to songs and African drums!

Five markets every weekend

E17 Village Market

Every week we have five markets taking place in Walthamstow and between them they offer a wide range of goods for sale at great prices.

From Tuesday to Saturday each week we have the longest street market in Europe taking place in Walthamstow High Street as well as the Wood Street Indoor Market – which also opens on the first Sunday of each month.

Every Saturday see the E17 Village Market take place in Orford Road.

Walthamstow Farmers Market

On Sunday you get two for one markets when you visit Walthamstow Town Centre – the long-standing and very popular Walthamstow Farmers’ Market and the new Sunday Social Market are held next to each other in the High Street.

In February we asked you to vote for your favourite traders at Walthamstow Farmers Market and your votes have now been counted.

Thank you for voting for your best loved stalls at Walthamstow, and for your lovely comments.

The winner is Happy Cow Farm The runners up with equal votes, are Global Fusion Foods, Teds Veg, and Local Honey Man

The winner of the vouchers to spend at the market is Ennis.

Chingford Market

The Chingford Mount Market is held on the last Saturday of each month in Albert Crescent, E4 6HS and is licensed by Waltham Forest Council.

It is run by E4 Markets and includes a range of arts, crafts and food stalls.

The Limes E17 Market

The Limes E17 Market

This Sunday is the next The E17 Limes Market with plenty of gifts ideal for Mother's Day on Sunday 31 March 2019.

The Limes E17 Sunday Market is held monthly as part of their ‘Creative Journeys’ Entrepreneurial programme. 

Creative Journeys are sixteen-week programmes that encourage young people with disabilities to develop entrepreneurial skills and develop business ideas through cooking, gardening and crafting. 

The monthly market gives the young adults a chance to sell things they have baked, made and grown in a real business environment. This supports them to build skills for employment.

Hoe Street Market logo

Hoe Street Market is a monthly Sunday market at Walthamstow Trades Hall and will be open for business this Sunday.

Find gifts, art, cards, cakes, plants, jewellery, clothes, homeware and more from local artists, makers and bakers. 

Street food is served in the front car park.

Wood Street Market

Wood Street Indoor Market entrance

Wood Street Indoor Market has been named as one of the top markets in London by Time Out magazine which said: "There are food stalls, beauty shops, jewellery makers and more at Wood Street.

"What it's absolutely best at, though, is old stuff: vintage clothes, antique homeware, retro toys. There's even a football memorabilia shop."

The market is open Tuesday to Saturday and the first Sunday of each month.
