A new window gallery to display the work of local artists has opened this week thanks to a partnership between Waltham Forest Council, UK Power Networks and Invisible Numbers, a community based artists’ organisation.
UK Power Networks has a substation behind the shop at 1B Coppermill Lane, Walthamstow, which can only be accessed through the shop. The substation was recently upgraded to meet demand from local residents and businesses.
|
Following the £100,000 project UK Power Networks agreed to allow the shop window and display areas to be used as a gallery to showcase work from local artists. Invisible Numbers will be organising the programme for this window gallery.
The opening was performed by Waltham Forest Council Leader, Councillor Clare Coghill with Head of Capital Programme/Alliance Delivery at UK Power Networks, Liam O’Sullivan, and co-founders from Invisible Numbers Rebecca Booker, Hannah Ford and Joana Niemeyer.
