Eglurhad ynglŷn â triniaethau laser neu olau pwls dwys i’r wyneb

Dydd Gwener diwethaf (24 Gorffennaf), ysgrifennom atoch i rannu canllawiau Llywodraeth Cymru ar gyfer gwasanaethau cyswllt agos/gofal personol, gan gynnwys y rhai a ddarperir gan laser Dosbarth 3B/4 neu olau pwls dwys.

Yn anffodus, er bod canllawiau Llywodraeth Cymru a ddarparwyd yn gywir, roedd gwall yn ein neges eglurhaol ynglŷn â thriniaethau'r wyneb.

Nodir y sefyllfa gywir yn adran 3.2 o'r canllawiau (ar gael yn Saesneg yn unig ar yr hyn o bryd). Mae'n cynghori'n gryf na ddylid perfformio triniaeth i’r wyneb gyda laser neu olau pwls dwys, ond y gellir ei chynnig lle mae cyfarpar diogelu personol (PPE) priodol ar gael, a lle mae'r rhai sy'n perfformio'r driniaeth wedi cael hyfforddiant addas ar sut i wisgo a dadwisgo cyfarpar diogelu personol, yn ogystal â chael eu hyfforddi mewn rhagofalon rheoli heintiau safonol.

Ymddiheurwn am unrhyw ddryswch a achosir gan y gwall hwn.

Clarification on laser or intense pulsed light facial treatments

Last Friday (24 July), we wrote to you to share the Welsh Government’s guidance for close contact / personal care services including those provided by a Class 3b/4 laser or an intense pulsed light (IPL).

Unfortunately, whilst the Welsh Government guidance provided was correct, there was an error in our covering message regarding facial treatments.

The correct position is set out in section 3.2 of the guidance. It strongly advises that facial treatment with a laser or IPL should not be performed, but that it can be offered providing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is available, and where those performing the treatment have been suitably trained in putting on and taking off PPE, as well being trained in standard infection control precautions.

We apologise for any confusion caused by this error.
