Efallai y gwelsoch fod Prif Swyddog Deintyddol Cymru wedi cyhoeddi datganiad dros y penwythnos diwethaf yn cadarnhau y gallai deintyddfeydd ddechrau cynyddu amrywiaeth y triniaethau a gynigir mewn deintyddfeydd o 1 Gorffennaf 2020.
Cyn y datganiad hwnnw, rhoddodd AGIC ddiweddariad i chi ar ailgyflwyno Gweithdrefnau sy'n Cynhyrchu Aerosol (GCA) ar gyfer gofal deintyddol Brys. Roedd hwn yn cynnwys yr ymrwymiad i ddarparu Gweithdrefn Weithredu Safonol i ddeintyddfeydd cyn gynted â phosibl fel bod gennych amser i baratoi. Mae'r ddogfen hon bellach ar gael yma (Saesneg yn unig) ac mae'n darparu canllaw cynhwysfawr ar gyfer rhoi triniaeth GCA. Mae hefyd yn cynnwys dolenni i ganllawiau amrywiol eraill a fydd yn eich helpu i ailgyflwyno Gweithdrefnau sy'n Cynhyrchu Aerosol yn eich practis yn ddiogel. Mae neges (Saesneg yn unig) esboniadol gan y Prif Swyddog Deintyddol yn cyd-fynd â'r Weithdrefn Weithredu Safonol hefyd.
Gyda'r Weithdrefn Weithredu Safonol bellach ar waith, o safbwynt deintyddfa breifat, golyga hyn y gallwch ddechrau cynllunio'r gwaith o ailgyflwyno triniaethau GCA i gleifion heb COVID-19 yn eich practis o 1 Gorffennaf 2020.
Dyma'r dyddiad y mae'r Prif Swyddog Deintyddol yn bwriadu, ar hyn o bryd, lleihau'r statws rhybudd COCH cyfredol i FELYN, ond gallai hyn newid yn dibynnu ar benderfyniadau'r Prif Weinidog ynghylch newid deddfwriaeth a chyngor swyddogol iechyd cyhoeddus yng Nghymru. Disgwylir yr adolygiad nesaf o'r trefniadau hyn ar 18 Mehefin 2020 ac os bydd unrhyw newid i'r dyddiad 1 Gorffennaf 2020, byddwn yn rhoi diweddariad pellach i chi.
Gyda COVID-19 yn amlwg mewn cymunedau o hyd, daw'r diweddariad hwn a'r weithdrefn weithredu safonol â rhybudd. Ni fyddwn yn dychwelyd at apwyntiadau arferol am beth amser. Hwn yw'r cam cyntaf yn unig yn y broses o ddychwelyd at normalrwydd, ac mae'n gam sy'n eich galluogi i roi triniaeth i'r rhai hynny sydd ei hangen fwyaf, ar wahân i’r driniaeth frys sydd ddim yn GCA yr ydych yn gallu ei darparu ar hyn o bryd.

You may have seen that over last weekend the Chief Dental Officer (CDO) for Wales published a statement confirming that dental practices could begin to increase the range of treatments offered in dental practices from 1 July 2020.
Prior to that statement, HIW provided you with an update on the return of Aerosol Generating Procedures (AGPs) for Emergency dental care. This included the commitment to provide dental practices with a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) as soon as possible so that you had time to prepare. This document is now available here and provides a comprehensive guide for providing AGP treatment. It also includes links to various other sources of guidance that will support you to reintroduce AGPs to your practice safely. The SOP is also accompanied by a covering message from the CDO.
With the SOP now in place this means, from a private dentistry perspective, you will be able to begin planning the re-introduction AGP treatments to your practice for non-COVID-19 patients from 1 July 2020.
This is the date the CDO currently plans to reduce the current RED alert status to AMBER but this could change depending on the First Minister’s decisions around the easing of the overall lockdown status in Wales. The next review of these arrangements is due on the 18 June 2020 and should there be any change to the 1 July 2020 date, we will provide you with a further update.
With COVID-19 still prevalent in communities, this update and SOP comes with some caution and a return to routine check-ups is still some time away. This is just the first step in the return to normal and a step that enables you to provide treatment for those most in need, over and above the urgent non-AGP treatment you are currently able to provide.
