This publication provides important information regarding the statutory assessment arrangements for the school year 2014 to 2015. It outlines a number of statutory requirements as well as guidance on teacher assessment, transitions between the learning stages and assessment using the LNF.
National Support Programme (NSP) - Update
The NSP has been operational for over a year and has worked with 1600 schools across Wales - primary, secondary, special and PRUs. Schools will now be receiving specialist partner support to help them embed the LNF. Schools should ensure that they engage with their NSP partner and get the appropriate targeted support needed. Second of three reports looking at how a sample of primary and secondary schools is developing pupils’ numeracy skills across the curriculum. Generally, these schools have made some progress since the first year of the survey. However, many of their strategies have yet to make a consistent impact on standards. Welsh Government Response
Schools are reminded that as part of the Terms and Conditions of accepting the grant, that they should publish information about their Pupil Deprivation Grant usage on line.
The revised Areas of Learning and programmes of study for Phase 1 of the curriculum review are available to help you plan for their statutory launch from September 2015.

Wales is now a partner in the campaign to educate children aged 9 – 11 (junior) and 12-15 years (senior) about microbes, infections, hygiene and the importance of using antibiotics wisely.
