With the UK reassociating to Erasmus+ from 2027, new opportunities will be available for young people and youth organisations across Wales and the UK. Erasmus+ supports youth exchanges, volunteering, participation projects and youth worker mobility, helping young people develop skills, confidence and international connections.
Organisations and practitioners are encouraged to sign up to the British Council Erasmus+ newsletter for updates, funding opportunities and guidance. If you're new to Erasmus+, now is the perfect time to get involved. For most projects, you'll need to build strong relationships with international partners before applying. Use this useful tool to connect with organisations across Europe and explore future opportunities.

Youth workers are invited to participate in a one-hour online focus group exploring the ethical use of AI and chatbots in youth information work as part of the Erasmus+ funded youthinfo.ai project.

Love cycling, or just want to help show the world how great Wales is? The Tour de France is coming to Wales in 2027 and we need young people’s help!
In July 2027, Scotland, England and Wales will host the Tour de France Grand Départ, with Wales hosting stage 3 of the race, from Welshpool to Cardiff, on 4 July.
Volunteers will be officially known as JOY Makers, bringing the joy of cycling to fans and communities. They will be at the heart of the action, welcoming visitors, supporting event operations, supporting community activities and helping create a safe and unforgettable experience for everyone.
Those between 18 and 25 can also apply for the ‘Readiness to Work’ programme, building skills through training and mentoring. Applications to be a volunteer can be submitted here and close 1 September 2026.

Youth Work in Wales’ Marketing and Communications team is gathering real stories that demonstrate the positive difference youth work makes to young people and communities across Wales.
Your contribution could include a short story, quote, photograph, video or example of good practice.

Applications are encouraged from groups and agencies who can use the funding within this financial year (by 31st March 2027).

The application form must be received by Friday 14th August.
The SSHP Hub also includes contact details for the Regional Leads who can advise anyone unsure of their eligibility or who would like to discuss the suitability of a project.

St David’s Catholic College in Cardiff has produced some bilingual resources aimed at learners aged 16 to 18 years old in conjunction with the parents of a student, Tom Channon, who tragically died while on holiday in 2018 after finishing his A levels.
The resources are to promote awareness of safety for young people going away on holiday without family for the first time.
This is a safety initiative, intended to be part of the pastoral studies programme at schools and colleges in Wales. It aims to increase the young people’s awareness and to better understand how to keep safe and avoid dangerous situations.
Caerphilly youth service, in conjunction with Careers Wales, has organised a programme of drop-in surgeries and a ‘Which Way Now?’ event for young people aged 16–19. Drop-in surgeries will take place on 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th August, providing information, advice and guidance on education, training and employment opportunities.
The ‘Which Way Now?’ event will bring together employers, colleges, training providers and a range of support agencies. If you are supporting young people within this age group who require information or guidance, please encourage them to attend, where they will receive a warm and supportive welcome.
Youth Cymru works with partners across the sector to source a broad and representative range of content. Organisations are encouraged to share relevant updates, opportunities and good news stories that support national youth work priorities.
