The third Leaseholder and Resident Forum meeting took place on Tuesday 9 December. The forum was well attended and provided an opportunity for leaseholders to engage and share their views.
Actions:
One of the actions was to share the Local Government and Housing Committee report from the first stage of scrutiny of the Building Safety (Wales) Bill. You can read the report here. Future updates, including the Cabinet Secretary’s response to the report, can be found here.
The meeting also received an update on the collaboration with UK Government to create a works licence template. A working group with developer, managing agent and freeholder representatives has been established. Updates will be provided as work progresses however it is important to note the template in development is intended to act as a reasonable starting point for negotiations to help parties agree terms which a developer will carry out works required by the developer contract. It will not be mandatory and where discussions are already beyond the initial stages, negotiations should not be delayed in order to make use of the template.
