A package of support designed to help learners and families navigate the Additional Learning Needs (ALN) system has been announced, following a review of ALN legislation, listening to families and learnt lessons from delivery across Wales.
The project connects university students from nine Welsh universities with secondary schools across Wales, creating meaningful mentoring relationships that inspire young people to engage with languages and cultures.

Welsh Government is working to improve examination results data sharing and asking centres to verify Unique Learner Numbers (ULNs) before entering learners for examinations.
The system will close for scheduled maintenance at 5pm on Friday 19 December 2025 and will re-open at 8am on Thursday 8 January 2026. During this period, users will not be able to access reports, schedule, nor take assessments. Please plan accordingly to avoid disruption to your activities.
Qualifications Wales is running a survey for centres offering qualifications to 14 to 16-year-old learners.
Centres will need to coordinate their responses to ensure one response per centre, which is approved by their Head of Centre, and should be submitted by 15 December. Centres can complete the survey here.
