Emergency planning and response guidance for education and childcare settings

Updates on how educational and childcare settings should plan for and deal with emergencies including significant public health incidents and severe weather.

School essentials grant: help with school costs

The grant opens on 1 July 2025 and closes 31 May 2026.

Families with children in reception to year 11 on lower incomes and get certain benefits. Parents and carers can claim once per child per school year.

Personalised assessments 

Headteachers, teachers can benefit from using the personalised assessment reports to plan learner progression.If you have not accepted your personalised assessments data agreement for 2024 to 2025, please log into Hwb to review staff functions as soon as possible.

MIS reminder: Personalised Assessments are mandatory in 2024 to 2025. You will need up to date information on learners in your MIS to access reports and schedule assessments.Please ensure your MIS is accurate, and that you run the Hwb provisioning client on a regular basis.

National EdD (Wales): Doctor of education programme applications for 2026 open now!

As part of the Welsh Government’s ongoing commitment to support the implementation of the Curriculum for Wales, we will be funding 30 places on the National EdD (Wales) Doctor of Education.
