From Wales to the world – help us turn the world Welsh this St David’s Day

This year we’re celebrating our national day with a hwyl-filled social media celebration of our nation that showcases the Random Acts of Welshness – little things that bring our traditions and country to life.

This campaign is a great opportunity for you to join in the fun and make our national day one to remember for your partners, networks and customers.

Please share far and wide with your international contacts to encourage them to take part in the campaign – so that we can communicate our message of doing the little things across the world on St David’s Day!

What makes an act of Welshness?

  • It’s a little thing that’s easy to do
  • It celebrates our people or traditions
  • And, above all else, it makes someone’s day, or the world, just that little bit better

Here’s an information deck with more detail and a video for some inspiration.

Get involved …

  1. Choose a Random Act from the full list on our website
  2. Follow us on social media @Walesdotcom / @cymraeg
  3. Share your Random Act on St David’s Day by using #randomactsofwelshness and #pethaubychain

Wales Week London: 22 February - 6 March 2024

Wales Week London will take place over the period of St David’s Day week in London and is the annual showcase of activities and events that celebrate and promote everything that is great about Wales.

A celebration of Welsh Food and Drink in London

In celebration of St David’s Day, Food and Drink Wales are taking the very best Welsh food and drink producers to London in a vibrant market. If you’re in or around the famous Spitalfields Market, pop along and experience Welsh gastronomy – from the traditional and much-loved Welsh Cake, to award winning charcuterie and so much more. See for yourself what Wales has to offer. Try some free tasters from their food truck or watch a cooking demo or two. There will be a bounty of Welsh products on offer as we celebrate our patron saint in style!

Visit Lamb Street, Spitalfields, E1 6EA:

  • Saturday 2 March 10am - 6pm
  • Sunday 3 March 10am - 4pm

The event forms part of the wider food and drink campaign #LoveWalesLoveTaste #CaruCymruCaruBlas, dedicated to showcasing the finest in Welsh gastronomy across the UK. So mark your calendars and savour the rich flavours of Wales!

Food & Drink Wales - The Value of “Welshness”

9 out of 10 guests to Wales think it’s important that venues have a good range of dishes with Welsh ingredients.

The Welsh Government has commissioned a series of research to better understand the “Value of Welshness” to shoppers and guests in Wales and across GB. Each piece of research demonstrates that shoppers and guests desire more Welsh Food and Drink in retail and out of home venues.
