Free appeals for economically disadvantaged learners – exams summer 2023

Funding will be made available to schools and colleges again this year, to ensure learners who are economically disadvantaged have equity of access to the appeals system. The funding applies to all general and vocational qualifications. Appeals will only apply in limited circumstances as outlined by JCQ and WJEC, that is where there is concern about errors in the marking, special consideration, reasonable adjustment not being applied correctly, or malpractice.

Please remember that appeals can cause grades to be revised down as well as up. Centres and learners should discuss any potential appeal to assess its suitability. Should you have any queries about the appeals scheme please email.
