An annual report that sets out the progress and achievements of Curriculum for Wales to date, with priorities for the year from September 2023, has been published by Welsh Government.

The Toolkit provides access to a range of information and resources to enable schools and settings to develop and embed their own approach to reading and oracy across the whole school learning environment.

Periods products over the summer holidays
With the summer holidays fast approaching, this is a reminder to make sure pupils are aware they can take free period products from school home. Products should be placed in an easily accessible place.
Schools can access free period products through their local authority, funded by the Welsh Government.
We are undertaking research to explore how schools and pupil referral units are embedding a Whole School Approach to Emotional and Mental Well-being. The survey takes about 15-minutes to complete, and your response could help to inform education policies and practices in Wales. Please follow this link to take part.

Careers Wales in collaboration with leading academics in the field of enterprise and entrepreneurship, are planning to co-construct a new enterprise teaching and learning resource for 3-16 that reflects the principles and rationale of the Curriculum for Wales. To guide this development, we would like to invite 8 x teaching professionals to join a working group.

Newyddion Ni to start on S4C in September
A new news and sport programme for children and young people, will be shown on S4C in September - Newyddion Ni (Our News). It will include reports by children and young people, as well as longer items to explain more complex stories. The programme will include a slot covering lighter news, called ‘Newyddion App-us’. The 8-minute-long programme will be broadcast on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. It will be shown on S4C Clic at 11:00, as part of the Stwnsh strand in the afternoon, and will be available afterwards on S4C Clic and BBC iPlayer. The programme’s new presenter will be revealed at the end of August.
