New Research - Mixed Attainment Teaching Practice
We have commissioned research to identify the extent of mixed attainment teaching and learning and where it is taking place in Wales. We want to understand the advantages and the challenges of different approaches, and what professional learning in this area would be useful.
Practitioners are invited to contribute to this research by taking part in this primary school survey or this secondary school survey, from University of Wales Trinity St David. The deadline is 5 May 2023.

Braille booklets: Learners who are using Braille versions of the assessments will require tactile diagrams for Numeracy (Procedural) and Braille booklets for Reading in order to complete their assessments. Please allow two weeks for delivery in time for your planned date of assessment: helpdesk 0292026 5099 or email help@personalisedassessments.wales
Headteachers: Please action Teachers can benefit from using the personalised assessment reports to plan learners’ progression but, if you have not yet accepted your personalised assessments data agreement for 2022-23, your staff will not have access to those reports. Please log into Hwb to accept the data agreement and review staff functions as soon as possible.

10 April marks the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Belfast (Good Friday) Agreement. Ahead of it and the anniversary of the referenda that gave effect to the Agreement on 22 May. National Archives are launching a package of educational materials on the journey to the Agreement and its continuing role which will be available from 23 March.

On 22 April 2023, Routes Cymru will officially launch their Primary Toolkit, at the Centre for Student Life, Cardiff University. The toolkit was developed to support the delivery of international language teaching in the new Curriculum for Wales, and is available for French, Spanish and German. Researchers from the Collaborative Institute for Education Research, Evidence and Impact (CIEREI), are keen to hear from primary teachers in schools across Wales to find out how they use apps to support learning. They are particularly keen to hear from teachers who use apps in Welsh medium settings.
