World Book Day
The NEU’s next planned day of strike action takes place on World Book Day (2nd March 2023). As there is uncertainty, we would recommend that schools choose a different day to celebrate with pupils.

We plan to end period poverty and achieve period dignity in Wales by 2027. On 15 February we published The Period Proud Wales Action Plan. A dedicated web page has been developed which links to the plan, resources and information on the period dignity grant.

The information in the PISA national report which we will receive later this year will play an important part in our approach to recovery and improvement, helping us to understand our current position and jointly plan our next steps with stakeholders. PISA is an international survey, so their valuable support has helped Wales to contribute to learning on the world stage.
Building on the 2021-2022 Curriculum Design conversations, this National Conversation will focus on supporting practitioners and school/setting leaders to reflect on their curriculum and assessment design processes since September 2022. Here is a link to supporting materials which will be helpful to support your involvement in the national conversation and holding conversations within your own setting. Please note the closing date for registration is midday on Thursday 9 March.
