Sustainable Tourism Wales; product listing filter update

Not sure where to start when it comes to sustainability? Maybe you've started making changes within your business but want to take it to the next level? Download our handy resource packs which include top tips and funding advice for our five core topics of Water, Waste, Energy, Transport and Supply Chain.

We’re also adapting our websites to make it easier for those looking for a more Sustainable holiday, day trip or venue to find information.  We’ve added sustainable tourism filters to the product search on visitwales.com, travetrade.visitwales.com and meetinwales.com.

If you offer e-bike hire, e-charging or public transport transfers you can tag your listing via the product listing admin tool. To do this, simply scroll down to the ‘facilities’ heading and then tick the services that you offer.

We’ve also linked our product listings with Green Tourism and Green Key. This means that if you’ve registered with either, or both, of these programmes the logo will appear in your listing and will automatically be tagged in the filter options.

For more information or help tagging these through your listing, e-mail product.database@gov.wales.

Written Statement: Second Homes and Affordability and the Associated Pilot: six-month update

A written statement was issued by Julie James MS, Minister for Climate Change, on 26 January providing a six-month update on second homes and affordability and the associated pilot.

REMINDER - Proposed new licensing scheme to improve the standard of visitor accommodation in Wales

The Welsh Government has launched a consultation on establishing a statutory licensing scheme for all visitor accommodation providers in Wales.

The primary aim is to establish a level playing field for all visitor accommodation businesses operating in the sector. The concern around the lack of a level playing field has been a long-standing area of discussion with concerns certain parts of the sector do not meet or comply with their statutory obligations.

Find out more and please share your opinion with us through the consultation on: Statutory licensing scheme for all visitor accommodation providers in Wales | GOV.WALES.

The consultation closes 17 March 2023.

UK sentiment tracker survey

The results from the latest wave of the UK sentiment tracker survey undertaken 3 - 9 January 2023 have been published on the VB website.
