Waiting Room

£2 million to improve emergency waiting rooms

The funding will improve facilities in hospital emergency departments, including seating, information screens, better access to water or food stations and improvements to Wi-Fi and electrical charging points.

New mental health unit

New mental health unit plan moves a step closer

Outline plans to build a new mental health unit at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd to improve the quality of care for adults and older people have been approved by the Health Minister.

Hands together

The Welsh Government is considering some changes to the law, to improve social care and continuing NHS healthcare.

Proposals include legislation to eliminate profit from the care of children looked after. And introduce direct payments for adults who are eligible for continuing NHS healthcare.

Views are also sought on: • extending mandatory reporting of children and adults at risk • changes to regulation of social care services and the workforce • inclusion of childcare and play workers within the definition of social care worker.

This consultation closes at midnight on 7 November 2022.
