Where does the time go?? It's been almost 2 months since our last Newsletter, the last one was published right at the beginning of the holiday period - hope all our readers have managed to take a well earned break and either enjoy a stay-cation, enjoy some lovely weather in your own garden or soak some sun abroad.

Here at WRN we have all enjoyed some time off but, don't worry, there has still been lots going on.

A Celebration of Rural Wales

In conjunction with the Celebrating Rural Wales event we embarked on a Celebrating Rural promotional campaign.

Case Study Booklet

Take a look at just a handful of some of the successful projects that have been funded. Projects which have helped increase diversity and resilience in farming, forestry and food, investing in green initiatives, tackling poverty, driving competitiveness and creating sustainable growth and jobs for the people who live and work in rural Wales.

Video Case Studies

The Promotional Campaign produced a selection of video case studies, encompassing projects from the themes of the event.

Marine Clean Cymru is back!

This year, Keep Wales Tidy have teamed up with the Marine Conservation Society, targeting beaches around the Welsh coast and will coincide with the Great British Beach Clean, the UK’s largest national beach cleaning and litter survey programme.

GPs and other health workers in Gower may soon be able to prescribe wilderness bushcraft courses to help boost local people's health and wellbeing.

Growing Mid Wales explores hydrogen potential for the region

Growing Mid Wales, supported by the Cynnal Y Cardi and Arwain Local Action Groups, and Powys and Ceredigion County Councils commissioned consultants Radical Innovations Group to undertake the study, following regional stakeholders declaring an interest in Green Hydrogen as a zero-emission solution.

Pembrokeshire Fresh Community Vending Survey

This project is piloting fresh food vending machines across Pembrokeshire and working alongside the PLANED’s Wales Community Food Distribution Initiative that supports communities across Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire to set up their own community food hubs.

Historic first Welsh Agriculture Bill to support farmers into the future

The first ever Welsh Agriculture Bill has been laid before the Senedd today, paving the way for ambitious and transformational legislation to support farmers, sustainable food production, and to conserve and enhance the Welsh countryside, culture and language.
