COVID-19 UK Consumer sentiment tracker survey: Wales Profile

The COVID-19 UK Tourism Consumer Tracker Survey: Wales profile report has been published on the Welsh Government website.

This report summarises Waves 44 to 46 of the UK Consumer Tracker Survey, with fieldwork conducted between 1 March and 9 May. Reflecting higher comfort levels, UK and Wales residents anticipate taking significantly more overnight trips in the next 12 months, than the previous 12 months. Despite high confidence, there are a number of potential barriers to taking UK trips including financial barriers.

The UK Consumer Tracker Survey will continue in partnership with VisitEngland and VisitScotland.

Findings from the June fieldwork will be published later this month and will include new insights on the impact of financial situation on UK and overseas holidays.

Building on European funding successes vital to future of rural Wales

Building on the benefits significant European funding has brought to projects in rural Wales and the commitment of communities who have delivered them will be crucial as we look to the future.

This is the message from Rural Affairs Minister Lesley Griffiths ahead of a 200-plus guest event beginning today at the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells to celebrate the work of rural Wales.

Make your voice heard: you and your ocean in Wales

Are you involved in the management of our coasts and seas, or education or raising awareness with communities or councils or related work?

Do you want to help develop an action plan to build ocean literacy in Wales?

Ocean literacy is when people understand how our collective and individual actions impact the ocean’s health and how the ocean’s health impacts our lives. Better ocean literacy could lead to improvements in how we manage and use our coast and sea to benefit wildlife and people.

NRW on behalf of the Wales Marine Action and Advisory Group is hosting 2 short online workshops 1pm to 3pm on 13 and 16 June 2022.

Visit the Business Wales website for more details.

Discover the benefits of .wales and .cymru domains

The web is now Welsh with .cymru and .wales domains.

.cymru and .wales are the top-level domains for Wales and were launched on 1 March 2015 by Nominet, the organisation responsible for the smooth running of the .UK internet.

For those who want to underline their Welsh connection or heritage, the domain name endings are a visible sign to anyone who visits their site. It’s great news for Wales, Welsh businesses and anyone who wants to target the Welsh market.

Ministers outline the aims for Wales to become an Anti-Racist Nation

The Welsh Government is taking action to make Wales an Anti-racist nation. Ministers have published the ‘Anti-Racist Wales Action Plan’ to tackle systemic and institutionalised racism.

Drawing on Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities’ experiences of racism, and race inequality, the Plan sets out a series of actions from across Government to make a real difference to the lives of people. The actions are focused on the next two years, set against the vision of a Wales which is anti-racist in 2030.
