Substantial funding made available as key agricultural schemes extended

More than £66 million is being made available by the Welsh Government to continue delivering positive environmental outcomes for Wales, a key part of maximising the protective power of nature through farming.

Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) Transfer of Entitlements guidance

The transfer notification facility for 2022 is now available on your RPW Online account. We must be notified by 15 May 2022 in order for the recipient to make a claim on entitlements they are receiving for the 2022 scheme year.

Increase in BPS entitlement values

Following the removal of the Greening requirement for BPS from 2021 onwards, the Greening budget has been moved into the BPS entitlement budget. Entitlement values have been increased to take account of the change in budget.
The change in entitlement values are now viewable on your RPW Online account.

Social enterprise takes action to save Welsh wool industry

A Menter Môn-lead project, ‘Made with Wool’ will bring partners together from across the country to realise the potential of wool as a sustainable and renewable resource. The aim is to promote opportunities and trial innovative new products.

The aim is to add value right across the supply chain from farm to end product.

Community Led Local Development

This month our featured Local Development area is Powys.

Arwain is the LEADER Programme 2014-2020 for Powys. The enterprise works with projects which will create vibrant, empowered and connected local communities, delivering sustainable and innovative solutions to current and future economic, social and environmental issues, to enhance the economic wealth of the County.

Local Projects - there are currently 52 projects in the Powys, spanning the LEADER themes of -

  • Adding Value to local identity and natural and cultural resources
  • Facilitating pre-commercial development, business partnerships and short supply chains
  • Exploring new ways of providing non-statutory local services
  • Renewable energy at community level
  • Exploitation of digital technology
