Future Wales published
The national development framework - Future Wales: The National Plan 2040 - has been published today. Future Wales replaces the Wales Spatial Plan and forms part of the development plan for Wales.

Technical Advice Note (TAN) 8 and Wales Spatial Plan
As a result of Future Wales being published today, TAN 8: Planning for Renewable Energy and the Wales Spatial Plan are revoked.
Impact Assessments of Future Wales
Today we have also published the final versions of the Integrated Sustainability Appraisal, Non-Technical Summary and Habitats Regulations Assessment reports. These have been updated to include the assessment of the post Senedd scrutiny changes to the plan.
A Post Publication Statement has also been published which sets out the assessment process and how it has informed the plan and the monitoring framework. These documents are available to download here.
Planning Policy Wales (PPW) Edition 11 published
A new Edition of PPW has also been published today. PPW Edition 11 aligns national planning policy with Future Wales and reflects recent legislative, policy and guidance updates. You can download PPW Edition 11 here.
The Planning Directorate is working on the production of Future Wales – the national plan 2040. This is our national development framework, setting the direction for development in Wales to 2040.
