Creating Flexibility for Schools & Settings – Modification of the Basic Curriculum (November 2020)
To reflect the need for continued flexibility for schools to respond to the issues and challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the statutory curriculum and assessment requirements will be modified to a reasonable endeavours basis for the month of November. This will be a continuation of the curriculum and assessment modifications that were in place for September and October. Notices to modify curriculum and assessment requirements may only apply for a specified period of time, which must not exceed one month.
The trials for the new Numeracy (Reasoning) Personalised Assessments have been re-scheduled for the period between now and Christmas and we need more volunteer schools for this important work. You and your learners can be part of the action. Email: trials@personalisedassessments.wales to find out more.
Remember that the personalised assessments can be taken at any time and that the reports generated are useful to help you plan teaching and learning for the year. You can schedule assessments and view reports once your headteacher has accepted the data agreement and assigned staff functions.
