A temporary amendment in England and Wales allows keepers to continue to trade cattle after a clear herd surveillance test, where calves under 180 days old have been excluded from the test for social distancing reasons. Please be reminded that the requirements for statutory pre-movement and post-movement TB testing of cattle in GB continue to apply, as these tests are important in preventing the spread of bovine TB. This means that all animals, including calves of 42-179 days of age, which are eligible for a pre-movement test must still have been tested in the last 60 days to be able to move from your holding. Until an eligible animal can safely receive a pre-movement test in conjunction with the social distancing advice, the animal must remain on your holding.
