The Welsh Government supports this PPN and is implementing it as a matter of urgency.

COVID-19: rapid sanitising technology

Ambulances must be thoroughly cleaned once a patient with suspected COVID-19 has been transported. These cleaning times can take up to 45 minutes and have to be undertaken at cleaning centres which can be some distance away. This puts a strain on an already busy and pressurised service as the vehicles cannot be used until cleaning is completed.

The Welsh Government, SBRI Centre of Excellence, Welsh Ambulance and NHS Wales are looking to identify, develop and demonstrate rapid sanitising technologies.

For further enquiries on the application process and to apply please follow this link to the Defence and Security Accelerator.

The closing date for applications is 1 April 2020. Please share this with your networks. If you have any enquiries please email SBRI.COE@wales.nhs.uk
