Visit Wales Industry Roadshow 2019 – save the dates!

Visit Wales will be on the road in October for the latest series of tourism industry roadshows.  These half-day events will focus on the Future Priorities Action Plan for Tourism in Wales – which will be the successor to the current Tourism Strategy; Partnership for Growth.

Watch out in the coming weeks for details on how to book your place.

The Wales Way: Get engaged

The Wales Way: a new family of three national routes – The Coastal Way, The Cambrian Way and The North Wales Way.

The Coastal Way content update

In a project led by Gwynedd Council on behalf of Gwynedd, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire, The Costal Way is being positioned in a digital and offline marketing campaign as an outstanding year round outdoor, heritage and culture destination. Integrating the Year of the Sea and The Wales Way themes, a wide range of digital content has been produced – including commissioned images, videos, digital content, themed itineraries, multilingual brochures and editorial content – for businesses to download, use and link to from your own website. Take a look at The Coastal Way content here.

The North Wales Way: brand new route maps available to download #DiscoverNorthWales

The four North Wales destination marketing areas have worked on a collaborative project to develop marketing assets linking in with The North Wales Way.

Following workshop and survey activity which gathered ideas and suggestions from the tourism industry across the region, seven brand new digital route maps have been launched. The maps can be accessed individually, or downloaded as a comprehensive region-wide guide.  These are available to download here as interactive and static pdfs which can then be uploaded to your website and shared with your visitors.  If you have any queries, please contact tourism@conwy.gov.uk.

Foodie gems of The Cambrian Way

An interactive map on the Visit Wales website has had an exciting new development with the addition of over 200 local food and drink businesses, retailers, hospitality providers and food festivals that are within 40 minutes of the The Cambrian Way.  The map is available here and the route can be explored by visitors and locals alike, with multi-day itinerary trails where people can mix tourist sites with locally sourced produce.

If you would like further information on the background to the development of The Wales Way, take a look at our opportunities document.   An industry guide, which will include a step-by-step guide on how to make the most of The Wales Way, will also be published later this year for tourism businesses.
