As we embark on a new year it’s a great opportunity to reflect on what has been a fantastic year for Welsh food and drink. The last 12 months have seen new businesses flourish, annual events grow exponentially and collaboration across the industry work better than ever.

Growing the Drink Industry in Wales

The Drinks Development Cluster has been launched as part of Welsh Government’s Cluster programme and is aimed at supporting growth through industry collaboration and connectivity.

The biggest names in food and drink look to attract a record number of delegates to the upcoming Blas Cymru / Taste Wales 2019 with a clear message that the industry needs to think differently and accelerate sustainable growth.



Welsh companies to attend world’s largest food and drink trade event in Dubai to boost exports

Welsh food and drink companies are preparing to attend one of the world’s largest food trade events in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from 17-21 February. Held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Gulfood will attract over 98,000 visitors over the five days, welcoming more than 5,000 exhibitors from 193 countries showcasing products across 8 primary market sectors.

Welsh dairy company secures lucrative contract in Qatar

Calon Wen, Wales’ leading organic dairy company, has recently secured a sizeable supply contract in Qatar following a Welsh Government trade mission. Partnering one of Qatar’s leading distribution companies Calon Wen will be available in many leading retailers in the country.
