It is paramount that we equip our children and young people with the necessary skills to keep them safe in a constantly evolving online world – Kirsty Williams, Cabinet Secretary for Education.
A grant of £1.7m has been made available to support schools in preparation for delivering the digital requirements in the new curriculum. Priority will be given to schools most in need of upgrading devices and in-school infrastructure, including Wi-Fi. The grant has been awarded to the Welsh Local Government Association, who will be working with local authorities to allocate the funding where the need is greatest. Schools should contact their local authority for further information.

Welsh Language Music Day
The fourth annual Welsh Language Music Day (Dydd Miwsig Cymru) will be on Friday February 8th 2019. Here are a few ideas of what your school can do to celebrate:
- School disco or gig
- Welsh Music Quiz
- Dress up as your favourite Welsh artist
- Create a Youtube video
- Play the DMC playlists and share with parents

Google are bringing ‘Education on Tour’ to Wales. This is a half-day training event featuring stories from local schools and hands-on sessions specific to the Welsh context.
To switch languages, log in to Hwb and choose the Google icon from Hwb Tools. Next, click on the Google profile icon and choose ' Google Account'. Then in the settings look for 'language'. Choose Cymraeg (Y Deyrnas Unedig).

A Twitter hour hosted by EWC will showcase what third sector bodies can bring to education settings (schools, colleges, work-based learning, and youth work) to enrich the curriculum for learners.
