Extra £22.5m EU funds to boost skills on Europe Day

The projects to benefit from additional EU funding include Inspire2Work, Trac 11-24, Achieve through Work Experience and Agile Nation II. This extra help, which is being announced on Europe Day, will ensure almost 8,000 people receive support and training.

£9.2m EU-backed programme to help Welsh industry reduce carbon emissions

Backed with £5.9m of EU funding, the Reduced Industrial Carbon Emissions (RICE) initiative, will work with local supply chain companies to test how carbon dioxide produced from heavy industrial processes can be innovatively used to make high value products and industrially important chemicals. 

RICE is led by the Energy Safety Research Institute (ESRI) at Swansea University in partnership with University of South Wales.

EU funding boost for Holyhead

Holyhead Market Hall

EU funds of £2.3m will support the construction of new business units in Penrhos and the reconstruction of Holyhead’s historic Market Hall. Led by Ynys Môn Council, it is part of a joint venture with the Welsh Government through the Building for the Future programme.

The NWE Programme has launched a targeted call to support renewable energy projects in North-West Europe.
Deadline: 31 July 2018 (link).

Rural Development Programme

Rural Community Development Fund: Expressions of interest wanted

The Rural Community Development Fund (RCDF) grants are primarily aimed at community-based organisations.

The grants will provide investment funding for a wide range of activities to help meet local needs and strengthen communities so that they can grow and thrive.
