Design the First Minister’s official Christmas card this year

Carwyn Jones, First Minister of Wales is inviting children from Years 3 and 4 in primary school to design his official Christmas card this year. 

The winner will get the opportunity to meet the First Minister and will receive a signed framed copy of their entry.

Changes to National School Categorisation System

The Cabinet Secretary for Education, Kirsty Williams AM, has announced changes to the National School Categorisation System that will come into force with immediate effect. Read the announcement here. A letter is being issued to all schools with further information on the changes.

Schools as Learning Organisations –Nationwide Survey 

Welsh Government will soon be launching a third survey in partnership with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development OECD. The survey aims to support the transition to the new curriculum. If your school has been invited to complete the short survey by email this week, we would welcome your engagement and open and honest feedback. 

EOTAS Conference 2017

DVLA Coding Challenge 

The DVLA Code Challenge is aimed at all primary school children aged 7-11 in Wales. Teams of up to five, from schools and community-based code clubs, are being invited to showcase their programming skills by designing a computer game from scratch, based around one of 4 different themes set by the event’s sponsors.

Money Advice Service – Teachers Outcomes Framework

The Money Advice Service has developed a series of outcomes frameworks and measurement tools to help provide a standardised way of measuring the impact of financial education. This includes a Teachers Outcomes Framework, which identifies the key outcomes and indicators that will help enhance teachers skills, knowledge and understanding.
