National Academy for
Educational Leadership Roadshows
The
National Academy for Educational Leadership is being established to enable high-quality leadership development across the system. We are inviting
Headteachers and other leaders to upcoming roadshows across Wales. These will
provide a valuable opportunity for you to help shape the focus of the Academy.

Registration for the National Digital Learning Event is now open!
The day will include an opening address by the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Kirsty Williams; a keynote talk from John Jackson from London Grid for Learning; workshops and a digital marketplace.

The diagnostic support tools for the
national reading and numeracy tests will be available tomorrow (11 May 2017). These tools will support
teachers’ analysis of the national test results for their pupils and will map
performance to the National Literacy and Numeracy Framework. Please bookmark the page
Welsh National Tests Data Collection
The final deadline for uploading data
is 7 June,
or by the date set by your local authority/consortium.
Once the last test for the testing
cycle has been administered, the headteacher must sign confirming that all
guidelines were followed. The declaration for 2017 must be signed and submitted
to the relevant consortium by the 14
June.

We
are inviting all headteachers in Wales to nominate a hard-working, determined
and aspirational pupil in either Year 10 or 11 to compete for a unique, once in

(Wales) Regulations 2017 and Education (Destination Information) (Prescribed
Activities) (Wales) Regulations 2017.
The
Welsh Government have developed a survey on the statutory safeguarding guidance
Keeping
learners safe, the accompanying e-learning
safeguarding modules on Hwb and safeguarding training needs
in schools.
You
may be contacted to help assess how the Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) policy on
school attendance is being implemented across Wales. The evaluation will run
from 10 April to 31 July 2017.
We
have commissioned ICF Consulting Ltd and Arad Research to evaluate the
implementation of FPNs.
