Computational
thinking – new resources for Years
1-3 and Years
4-6
New digital resources from Barefoot have been added to HWB thanks to
collaboration with BT.
The free resources, for years 1-3 and 4-6, will support teaching activities
linked to the Digital Competence Framework (DCF), in the area of Data and
Computational Thinking. They were developed by South West Grid for Learning.
To access the
resources, select ‘classroom task ideas’ next to the relevant statement in the
DCF, and Log in to Hwb to access the materials.

Childcare
providers across the UK, including schools or those delivering on school
premises, are signing up for the UK government’s new offer. Tax-Free Childcare offers up to £2,000 per
child per year, or £4,000 if a child is disabled. Childcare providers must
sign up to be able to receive payments from parents through the scheme.
The
Sutton Trust Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) Toolkit provides
information on a variety of interventions which can be used to help
disadvantaged learners achieve their potential.
This is the largest national network
of its kind in the world. It brings together: secondary schools, health and
education practitioners and researchers to improve young people’s health.
Network schools can receive data on their own students’ health and wellbeing,
at no cost.
